It also offers video support, meaning that you will be able to watch videos from YouTube and several other sites that offer similar services. Get it here, or scan the code below from your device.

Twitter Applications For The N95

It is my opinion that there isn't a fully efficient Twitter application for S60 devices, but there are some decent ones like Twibble, Twitteresce, and Fring.

Twibble

Twibble is a software developed by a German company. It obviously allows you to update your Twitter status, besides that it also gives you the chance to update your location using the built-in GPS- the bad part of this feature is that when your contacts see your update that contains your location, they only find your coordinates instead of a link that would take you to Google Maps or something like that, you can only find yourself in map if you are using the twibble desktop software. Get the application here, or scan the code below to get it straight to your phone.

Twitteresce

This one is a simple application. You post your updates, and can also see what the people you follow are up to but nothing else. Not that great since it fails to login very often and drains your battery. Download it here, or scan the code below to get it.

Fring

Finally, there is Fring. This application is mainly designed to use Skype with your mobile, but they have added the option to post your twitter updates as well. The good part (or anoying part, as you wish) is that you get real-time updates of what the people you follow are posting, so unless you mute your phone it can drive you crazy. Get Fring here.

Mobbler, Listen To Any Song On Your N95

Are you familiar with last.fm? It is a radio service that allows you to listen to virtually any song in the world, you just have to create yourself an account with them, and type the name of the track you desire. If you don't have an account, hurry up and go to www.last.fm to get one. Why? well, the application Mobbler that runs on the N95 allows you to listen to use your last.fm account- that is, to have any song using only your mobile!

The program gives you the ability to create playlists, and share your favorite songs with other users. The sound quality is really neat, and I say this is one of the best N95 music applications there is. Download it here, or even better, scan the code below to get it straight to your cell phone.

Your N95 is worth a hotel night!

The new company Coolafone, gives enviromentally-conscious cell phone users the opportunity to recycle their old devices in exchange of juicy rewards. For example, when turning an N95 in decent conditions, people get a free night at a luxurious hotel, older phones can be traded for a few iTunes and smaller goods. It seems to me like an amazing idea, what do you think? take a look at the site here.

Never Get Another Traffic Ticket, Thank Trapster

The application ''Trapster'' will perhaps make your life a little bit easier. With this program you can always be alert of where is there a Police Trap, a Red Light Camera, a Speed Camera, or be aware of places where police often hides; sounds good, doesn't it?

It is completely user dependent. Users are the ones that report where the Cameras or Traps are. This is done using the GPS of the phone.

The application includes real time map, and gives you the option to put it in ''background mode'', that way you will only hear a sound alert whenever cops are near! Download it, have fun, and save yourself some money! go to the Trapster Website to create yourself an account and get the widget.

How to watch live TV on your N95

After searching throught the entire web for a free service that would allow me to watch Live TV on my cellphone inside the US, I finally found a way to do it that works worldwide. It was actually easy to find, but still, I lost 2 more hours looking for other channels. The steps to set it up are the following:

In your phone Menu look for the ''Video Center'' icon, when you enter that program go to ''Add new services'', that will take you to a webpage, this is the official Nokia website that provides video services to its users. Once you are there, go to where it says ''Services by Category'' and chose ''Entertainment'', after that you will be presented with a variety of Video providers, like ''Rooftop Commedy'' or ''Fast Lane'', you are free to download any of those, but the only one that offers Live TV it is called ''FreeBe TV'', so you will have to download that one. After installing it close that webpage and you will be redirected to the ''Video Center'' menu, go to ''Internet Videos'', open ''FreeBe TV'' and, Voila! you can choose from up to 10 channels, I prefer the one that streams music videos, it s better than MTV since you don't have Reality Shows!

Tell me how did it go? were you able to install it?

Have a Happy Wake Up

The software developed by Smart Valley, does an unusual work for you. Using the microphone of your device, it monitors your sleeping patterns like breathing, movements, and natural arousal moments in order to recognize if you are in a deep Rapid Eye Movement (REM) cycle or not, after that it calculates the best time to wake you up. This software does not try to wake you up when you are in a deep and calm sleep, the alarm only goes off when it is determined that your brain and body are in an optimal moment to wake up. This way, you will obtain an easy and happy wake up! The bad part is that you have to pay. Interesting idea, what do you think? To download it click here, or scan the code above and download it straight to your phone.

Nokia Point & Find Comming Soon

A revolutionary software developed by Nokia is about to come out. This product will try to change the way we search for certain things with our device; instead typing a query, people will only have to point at an object, take a picture of it using a mobile phone, and after that this software will inmediatly recognize the item and look for related information on the web. The examples provided by Nokia have been of people using the program to search for information about movies, by taking pictures of posters; the same has been done taking by taking pictures of cars. I wonder how acurate will the recognition of products be. You can let your imaginatioin fly just by thinking about the possibilities this new technology will bring, what do you think?

Mundu Radio

There is a new radio service that I recently found, the company in charge is from India, and the program is called Radio Mundu. What I liked about this program, and what makes it kind of special is the fact that you can add your own radio station, so you don't have to depend on what the service offers you, but instead you can manage your stations. First, download the program, and after you have done that create yourself an account, that can be done here. Enjoy and tell me which are your favorite radio stations so I can add them on my Mundu service. I love the radio Europaplus from Saint Petersburgh, Russia, so if you are interested you can check that one out.

Shake your SMS

If you're into SMS texting and you are lazy, then you will probably enjoy this simple application. What Shake SMS does is gives you the opportunity to view your new messages just by shaking the phone, instead of pressing the ''read'' button :). Just in case you don't want to shake your Nokia too hard, you can adjust the sensitivity. This program works thanks to the built in accelerator of the N95. Get it here!

BlogLoc, Update Your Location On The Go.

There's a new service for your N95, it's like Twitter, but what you update is your Location. It's called BlogLoc and it allows you to update to the web your global position using the built in GPS of your phone. After copying an HTML code on your website, the information is automatically displayed there. In fact, if you look on the top right section of the blog, you'll see that I have already added my map, and of course, I will be updating my location constatly.

In order to start using the service you have to create an account on their site and that's it! There you will find the option to install the application on the cellphone. It is a fascinating idea, and even though you can add a status update entering the site's page, I can't wait until they allow you to do the same from your mobile, and even better mix it with your Twitter and/or Facebook updates. Enjoy it and send me the link of your site to see your location!

Seesmic Goes Mobile

Seesmic recently launched their mobile application which allows you to record a video with your device and post it straight to your Seesmic account. Perhaps you say that it sounds like Qik, well the difference is that it is not streamed live, you have to record the video, press stop when you're done and post it. It is still amazing considering that you are doing it while you walk down the street.

For the ones that don't know what this site is all about, well, this start up website founded by Loic Lemour works pretty much like Twitter in some instance. Instead of writing something, you upload a video; after doing so your contacts will receive the alert that you have posted something new and in no time you receive an answer (another video). You see, what makes this community work are its members, because all of them are eager to answer instantly to the posts you make.

Are you a Seesmic user? What do you think of this idea, will it succeed?

Here's the Official video lauching the application:

Your N95 is a barcode scanning machine!

When I first started using the barcode reader on my N80 about a year ago, I didn't appreciate the application as much as I do now with my N95 8GB. If you don't know what I am talking about, go to the Office folder on your N95 and press on the icon where it says Barcode; If you don't have an N95 and you think you have a compatible device, click here to find out and/or download the application.

What the application does, is, with the use of the main camera, reads barcodes like the one on the left. The level of recognition is very good, it doesn't matter if you move the phone a little bit while trying to scan, or if your camera is upside down, it will still scan it. The codes can take you to three different paths: The first one is that after scanning, you'll be directed to a website, many companies in Japan have already started placing banners with barcodes on them to take more visitors to their websites; the second path is to scan the code and get a simple text, could be something like ''have a nice day''; finally, the last possibility is to scan a barcode and get a phone number, for which the application gives you the option to save it to your phone contacts. The good news is that you can easily create your own barcode at Nokia's website.

Now that you know, you can start scanning and creating barcodes, I invite you to scan the one I've posted and find out what it is!

New upgrades for the N95! Sorry, not the 8GB

Your experience with the Nokia N95 8GB can get even better with the new firmware update that Nokia just posted. What it includes is a few bug fixes and optimisations and probably the best new feature is the Automatic Screen Rotation (driven by the accelerometer) without having to download any RotateMe 2.0 or anything like that. It also includes support for more Bluetooth headsets.

Remember that before installing the new version you must sync/backup all your information. If you don't know where to find the new version simply click on this link.

N95 Worldmate for Travelers

If you travel a lot, or simply like to stay up to date with the changes of your local currency and weather, you might want to download WorldMate. Although you have to pay 49.95 $ to get the full version, the free trial is not quite bad. What the free trial includes is updates of your local currency, the weather forecast, a real-time map of the world showing you where is dark and where isn't, it also comes with a weather caster (with a robot-like-voice) that you can use as your alarm. Now, if you buy the rest, you will have the traveling kit, which provides you flight schedules of most airlines and the flight status of any flight. I don't know if it is worth it to spend all that money in upgrading the free trial, when you can simply google for your flight info. Do you use any similar widget?

Record your path with Nokia Sports Tracker

One of the features that make the N95 so unique, is the GPS that the device carries inside. I think it was the first, or one of the first cellphones to include such tool. The good thing is that its use isn't limited to an exclusive application. What does that mean? it means you can allow other applications to use it. Many softwares have been created since the release of the cellphone and Nokia Sports Tracker is one of these.

What does it do? well, it keeps track of a determined route when you activate it. While activated it measures your speed, your height above the sea, the amount of steps you take and the number of Kcal. you've consumed. Of course the last two are applied only when you are either walking or running. That's awesome isn't it? well hear the rest. After you have concluded your activity you can go back home and upload all the info to the official Nokia Sports Tracker's site. You will then see your route on google maps. But what if you don't want to wait? what if you want your path to be sent inmediatly to the net while you excercise? can do! First you have to have an internet connection. Then, if you activate the option ''live sharing'' before starting your activity, anyone will be able to see a dot on the site's map showing where you are. I mean you can even use this cellphone as a spying tool, that is of course, as long as you know that wherever you put it is going to return to you (a car for example).

Now what I am going to do tomorrow is this: when I take my plane from Oklahoma City to Houston I will activate the Application and record the whole flight. Later I will upload it to the internet. Can't wait to see the results! If any of you are interested just click here to go to my account.

Trying to compete with Qik

So there is a new service offering live streaming video to the internet. I downloaded the application and I haven't been able to find something that Qik doesn't offer. I also didn't find some features that Qik does offer. For example using Flixwagon you can only broadcast up to ten minutes, Qik offers unlimited minutes. Another thing that this new webpage is missing is the tool that allows you to chat live with the broadcaster. These kind of things make Qik the best software that enables you to stream videos directly from your phone to the Web.

I am sure that Flixwagon is not the last company to copy Qik, so what will probably happen is that the competence will encourage these websites to periodically develop and improve themselves more and more.

If you are interested in getting Flixwagon you can find it here www.flixwagon.com

CNN Widget

If you like to currently stay updated of what happens in the World you will probably like this widget CNN has released. if you go to http://cnnmobile.com/services/ you will find an option to have the application sent straight to your mobile. I like it, the only problem that I find is that sometimes it can be a little bit slow, so you will definitely need a 3G connection or a fast Wi-Fi. Do you know any other news widget?
