Free calls to the US, Russia, France, and more...

I just wrote about making skype calls using your N95, but as we all know skype is only free if you use it to call to other skype users, but what it you could call for free to landlines and mobile phones without wasting you minutes? Well, there is hope, and it is called VoipStunt.

First you have to create a VoipStunt accout, you can do that by clicking this link, after you have created your account you have to buy 10 Euros of credit (that is the minimum), if you don't want to buy you will only have 1 minute free calls, which aren't that good. Well, after you've purchased the credit you are granted with 365 days of free unlimited calls to the following countries:

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong (+mobile), Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico (+mobile), Russian Federation, Singapore (+mobile), South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States (+mobile).

If you oftenly call any of the citated countries you should really continue reading this post. The following is what you have to do on your N95:

You go to Settings -> Connection -> SIP settings

Profile name: VoipStunt
Service profile: IETF
Default access point: Your acces point
Public username: your_voipstunt_username@voipstunt.com
Use compression: no
Registration: When needed
Use security: no
Proxy server: don’t need to change anything here
Registrar server
Registrar server address: sip.voipstunt.com
Realm: voipstunt.com
Username: your_voipstunt_username
Password: your_voipstunt_password
Transport type: Auto
Port: 5060

After doing that you go to -> Settings -> Connection -> Internet tel. settings

Profile name: VoipStunt
Sip profiles: VoipStunt

After completing all the steps above dial any number with the country code included (Ex. 0015553324566), select options and select Internet Call, and you are ready to talk for free!

If you need any help just ask!

Great post! And, thank you for the information! It is unbelievable where technology is reaching out and how it’s constantly shaping our modern society. Companies have to reinvent themselves constantly; otherwise, they will be out of business. They upside is, that the beneficiaries are we, the great majority, the customers/users.

Thanks for the post.. I did everything as listed.. created an account etc, when I try to dial, it asks me to register the phone on the internet (or something like that) and then it tries to register to service but fails after a long time with a message "unable to register", I do have a wifi and it's connected.. any ideas?

Hey there,

Thanks for your interest. I know how to solve your problem: You have to correct the REGISTRAR SERVER ADDRESS and the REALM. You can copy them out of the post (that I have already corrected) The problem was that I had written VoipBuster instead of VoipStunt. I did that because I use to use Voipbuster, but Voipstunt has more free countries to call to. If you still have any problems don't doubt in contacting me.
